Beaconstac operates in the proximity marketing space. A niche that’s hyper-competitive in organic search. Arguably one of the most competitive niches around with a keyword difficulty level above 90 (ahrefs) for many of their core target search terms. As such, they compete with domains that have millions of backlinks for their core keywords.
When Beaconstac joined us, they had built some solid foundations and were looking to scale their traffic and revenue by promoting content across their customer buying cycle.
Content strategy varied from targeting long-tail keywords with long-form blog posts to continuously optimising underperforming content on the site. They have some key tool pages on the site that attract huge monthly search volumes. These pages have been a core focus for us for some time. Another simple but effective strategy was to create articles based on popular customer questions asked through the website live chat, demos, or email communications.
Beaconstac’s team have continually done a fantastic job at fulfilling their side of the equation. From smart overarching strategy to sound technical on-site SEO — the expertise of their team perfectly complemented the off-page strategies we executed for them.
Speaking of off-page strategies:
We focused on a mix of various link types, Outreach, Guest Posts as well as Herd Links.
We did some limited work with Beaconstac in 2020 but things seriously scaled up in early 2022 and continued through to 2024.
Beaconstac has gone from roughly 52,000 organic traffic visitors back in October 2020 to over 386,000 visitors per month by November 2022. We’ve observed this stratospheric growth across the site, from competitive short-tail keywords to service pages and long-form blog posts. The adoption of Herd Links in early 2022 correlates with the surge from 144,000 to 386,000 monthly visitors a few months later:
It’s worth noting that traffic peaked in January 2023 at 421K visitors per month. From there it fluctuated up and down from 250 – 350K visitors per month. This is normal. Traffic never stays steady. The numbers always fluctuate based on search demand, algorithm updates and many more variables.
What’s important to us is viewing the data in aggregate as opposed to cherry-picking numbers. If we have increased the overall numbers from where they started (by a certain margin) across the life of the campaign, we know we’ve achieved our goal!
In late 2023, Beaconstac rebranded to Uniqode, which involved 301 redirecting all the pages and link equity to a brand new domain. This is a significant undertaking and one that is still in progress. You will notice the traffic chart in ahrefs decline as the domain was redirected to uniqode.com. This is normal as Uniqode slowly picks up the domain authority, inbound links and traffic from Beaconstac.
