109% Organic Traffic Boom for Proximity-Based Marketing SAAS

Beaconstac is a SAAS company that helps brands connect with consumers through proximity-based marketing solutions. Think QR codes, NFC, and Geofence marketing. Their platform empowers brands with the tools they need to integrate physical and digital experiences for their customers. Clients include large multi-national corporations such as Nestle, Revlon and Google, down to small independent local businesses.

Note: we use ahrefs metrics for our case studies instead of Google analytics. We do this so you can verify the quoted numbers yourself, it also makes it easier on our side since there’s less back and forth between the client to obtain case study data. We know that ahrefs isn’t perfect, often slightly or drastically under-estimating traffic stats. But it provides a good ballpark for the growth trajectory of a business when we take the other metrics into account we use, such as traffic value.

Metric Summary

Beaconstac operates in the proximity marketing space. A niche that’s hyper-competitive in organic search. Arguably one of the most competitive niches around because their core target search terms have an ahrefs keyword difficulty level of 90 or above. As such, they’re competing with domains that have millions of backlinks for their core keywords. That being said, when they partnered with us, they were already in a great position and were looking to squeeze more traffic primarily from existing pages.

On-page strategies varied from targeting long-tail keywords with long-form blog posts to continuously optimising under-performing content on the site. Another simple but effective strategy was to create articles based on popular customer questions asked through the website live chat, demos, or email communications. Off-page strategies include a mix of round-up, guest posts, niche edits and link partnerships. A fair few of these links have come through us at Growth Partners. These primarily consisted of high DR guest-post links.

What’s proven mighty effective is their free QR code generator. This tool allows anyone to create a QR code in seconds and link it to a webpage, text message, phone number, and more. The QR code generator is also cleverly tied into Beaconstac’s 14-day free trial through various premium QR code features baked into the tool.

Beaconstac has gone from roughly 52,000 organic traffic visitors back in October 2020 (when they started working with us) to over 109,000 visits per month at the time of writing. The majority of traffic comes into one page — their free QR code generator, which aligns perfectly with their paid QR code solution.

It’s worth noting that Beconstac has engaged in a variety of link-building and outreach efforts aside from our help at Growth Partners. We certainly can’t take all the credit for these gains, but we made a meaningful difference through our contribution. Offering useful free tools can be a powerful way to drive traffic and leads. Answering questions directly asked by your customers can often work wonders for bottom of the funnel conversions, often from terms that show no search volume in link analysis tools.

Ultimately, a holistic on and off-page approach has helped Beaconstac get to where they are today in terms of SEO.
