Q: Why does the SEO ROI formula use a 12-month period?

SEO takes time to show results, and 12 months is a standard timeframe for measuring ROI for SEO campaigns. However, because SEO traffic continues to generate revenue beyond 12 months, the real return is much higher over time.

This calculator provides an estimated projection based on your inputs. While it doesn’t account for algorithm changes, competitive shifts, or seasonal demand, it gives a realistic expectation of potential returns.

Q: What's the difference between UR and DR?

UR and DR are both metrics that ahrefs uses to determine the power of pages and domain-level authority. We use ahrefs metrics because we've found them to be most accurate in working out the value of a page or domain from an SEO standpoint. UR (short for URL rating) works out the power of a specific page. Pages with a high UR have the strongest correlation to 1st-page rankings in Google. Q: What if my content is average?

If your content is average or below average, it'll simply be harder for us to land links for you when reaching out. We can still take on your project (subject to reviewing your content) but it may take longer to turn around your reports as fewer sites publish links to your page.

Q: You say DR40 and above, can you elaborate on that?

Since we don't use a sliding scale for pricing, everything is incorporated into one monthly package with the minimum DR metric. This keeps things simple on our side and gives us more flexibility when reaching out to sites. As you know, a natural link profile consists of links from a range of sites. The links we land contain a random mix of DR, based on the project and the sites we reach out to. This can differ slightly, month to month - we always try to land links on the highest quality sites possible for your campaign. Further, we know that DR works as a general guideline for authority as opposed to a hard and fast rule. For example, sometimes we may go below DR40 for a link if we see the site is quality and passes all our criteria.

Q: I need links for a product page, can you promote that?

We can't take on campaigns that focus on product or service page links, since these require a completely different approach and almost always involve a large upfront fee for placement on the target site. Right now we're focusing on efforts on landing links to high-quality informational content. A powerful internal linking strategy and optimised site structure can still work wonders for product pages that don't have many direct off-page links.
